2017 AES Larne Half Marathon

General Info 

The 2017 Larne Half Marathon will take place on Saturday the 18th March at 11am. Race numbers will be capped at 2000 this year and are expected to sell out well in advance, so organisers Larne AC encourage everyone to entry to avoid disappointment.

Relay

The ever popular relay event will again be included this year. The relay consists of three legs of approximately 5 miles, 3 miles and 5 miles. All relay teams will be expected to provide their own transport to and from both relay changeover points. Relay points are Dixon Hall (Drainsbay) and Cairncastle Primary School.

Walk

The walk will cover the full half marathon distance over the same course as the runners.  Please note that the walk will start at 10am. No entries for the walk will be taken after this time.

Course

The 13.1 mile course takes in a scenic coastal route starting at Larne Leisure Centre, Tower Road and includes the Town Centre before heading north on the scenic Coast Road. At Ballygally the course takes in Cairncastle before returning to Coast Road to return south and finishes via the beautiful promenade towards Larne Leisure Centre. Pacers

There will be pacers for 1.30, 1.45 & 2.00 hour groups. look out for your group at the start line, they will carry different coloured balloons.

Spectators

Good locations for spectating are Drainsbay Car-park, Ballygally Car-park and the Meeting House Pub in Cairncastle.

Spectators are asked to get to their spot before the race starts at 11am as most traffic will be diverted away from the route. Spectators will not be permitted to follow the race route along the Coast Road or back to the finish line.
 
Finisher's Medals
 
All competitors that complete the race will receive a commemorative medal.

Entrants will receive a race T-Shirt 

 Note: There will be no On-the-day Entry

 

Refunds

 

Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not transfer your application to the following year.

 

Entry fees are also NON-REFUNDABLE if the race has to be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control, for instance due to adverse weather conditions or on police advice. In such cases we will endeavour to inform participants as quickly as is possible and we shall not be liable for any inconvenience or costs suffered by participants. Again, you may not transfer your application to the following year.

 

Duplicate entries made in genuine error will be refunded in full.
